Shivonne Alberto (born in 1995) is a versatile visual artist and designer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her creative journey began with a background in graphic design (Mediacollege Amsterdam) followed by studies in spatial design (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht – HKU). This academic foundation has shaped Shivonne into an artist who continually explores and pushes the artistic boundaries in the art world.
Her exploration of spatial design at the art academy opened doors to a wide range of artistic expression. Shivonne developed skills in designing spaces, including interiors and public spaces, architecture, and creating large-scale artworks. These projects were always imbued with artistic intentions. Within this domain, Shivonne specialized in creating spaces and forms with a narrative, leaving her mark on the art scene.
After her academic journey, Shivonne found her place in both the art industry and the world of graphic design. As a visual designer and graphic design instructor, she shares her passion and knowledge with others while continuing to grow and evolve in her artistic practice.
Shivonne’s artistic exploration is a continuous quest for the best way to translate handwritten texts into tangible artworks. Each of her pieces taps into deep emotions stemming from the handwriting and the unpredictability of shapes. Her versatility as an artist is evident in her use of various materials such as wool and cotton yarn, wood, acrylic, and epoxy.
A highlight in Shivonne’s creative journey is the creation of her ‘Sqeletons’, artworks that have affirmed her artistic abilities. Her artworks frequently grace prestigious locations like ‘Big Art’, ‘Glue Amsterdam’, and ‘Hotel Arena’, captivating audiences with her unique perspective on shapes and stories.
As a hands-on designer, Shivonne is guided and inspired by the infinity of shapes, always seeking new uniqueness and aesthetics. Her perceptiveness is her compass, enabling her to discover the deeper stories behind shapes and materials. This results in complex and dynamic installations that explore the relationship between shapes, spaces, and materials in a profound and meaningful way.
In Shivonne Alberto’s world, shapes and stories are represented in a new way through her designs. Words are creatively immortalized.
